Indian superstars

Interesting conversation between one South African and two Indians on Indian stars who have a rag to riches story:

SA: Who is this singer, Ameer Kaan (gets it right in the 3rd attempt)? I see him a lot dancing in music videos and on Tata Sky?

Ind 1: No no he is not a singer, the singer is A R Rahman...the guy from South India who won the Oscar for Jai Ho (pride in his voice)...have u heard the song

SA: No No, I know AR Rahman...this guy is Ameer Kaan....the one who got a weird hair cut for his film, Gajeeni (struggling again with the name)

Ind 2: Ya ya, that is aamir khan but he is not a singer...he is a crorepati film actor...has lot of money (pride again)

SA: Oh...but if he is not a singer than why does he do so many songs (surprised)...every hour I see him on Tata Sky

Ind 1: That is 'coz he is their brand ambassador...that is how these guys make money ('andar ki baat hai' tone)...

SA: like Shah Khan (happy that he got it right first time)...or what his hame

Ind 2: Yes yes Shah rukh khan...you know he recently bought 6 floors in a building in Park lane in London....and u know the reason...'coz till his dad was alive they lived in a rented house and now he wants to have house in every major city (incredulous)

Ind 1: He belongs to del....worked in a serial Fauji on Doordarshan(the world famous channel, every1 knows it) and then in another called Circus (who could have missed that) and now he is a super star

SA: How did he become a super star suddenly (amazed)...how did he start

Ind 2: He was a theatre actor in DU...and then he worked in tv serials and now he is a super star (so simple,eh)

Ind 1: His is a classical rags to riches story(finally used a cliche)....no money, no house and now everything...

SA: I must be doing sthg wrong...how come I am not earning money (laughing)

Ind 1: You must start doing sthg in bollywood...thats how he became rich (earnest response)

SA: Should I move to mumbai then....del doesnt seem to be a good option (continuing the joke)

Ind 2: No no, like I said SRK is also from delhi...and u know the Singh is King guy, Akshay Kumar (who doesnt)...he is also from del..old del...used to be a waiter in a lane which sells only parathas (really)...and a black belt(scary)...and now he owns bungalows(wow, dont tell me)

And SA gets a call...so the conversation is interrupted.
